Happy Ashtami 2015..

Today is Ashtami and Kanya Pujan is done with great devotion and love.
Mostly 9 girls (unmatured girls) and 1 boy are invited in this puja and I don't mind as many kanya and as many Langoors come.
It happens everytime and it becomes a memorable event for us. Today there were total 15 kids.
Everything went so well and peacefully and kids were all happy and enjoyed.

I made Poori and Halwa with Black chana.

Guess what ... Here is the glitch ..... I forgot to soak the black chana at night .....in Morning after pooja I was stunned.

Then I tried something which worked and I was saved. Jai Mata Di !!

I boiled water and added raw black gram and let it boil for 15 minutes. when they were little soft, I added some salt and water and pressure cooked for 10 whistles. It worked. (I was running out of time else I think just boiling in water for some more time would have also solved the problem but haven't really tried ever.)

So finally I was saved.

This time I decided not to cook any vegetable (I cook Potato and tomato curry everytime) I tried to keep the Prasad simple and shudh.

When children enter the house, we cleaned their feet with some water in a bowl.

Served them Prasaad with some gifts and money and it all went well.

The best part about this Fast was the feeling of selflessness and devotion. I decided to eat less for few more days and not jump to my normal meals because I lost few kilos in last 8 days.

My mom and dad seemed lil worried seeing me losing some weight but I am HAPPY.....very happy.

I used to have Sweet Lassi in morning and 2 Boiled potatoes with some salt and clarified butter at night.
It seemed to work on me.

I opened fast by taking a bite of Prasad of Poori, Halwa and Black Chana, Nariyal and slept. Last night I couldn't sleep till morning 5:30 /6 am , so took some sleep.
Now I ate some more pooris.

These 8 days , I tried to be close to GODDESS Durga and I am feeling so good. Its like cleansing your soul and thoughts. Gaining back the strength and trust that everything will be fine. Its like a fresh new start full of positivity and being in control.

God Bless All..
Happy Navratri 2015 !!
